ROM - The Short Film

About

ROM – (Read-Only Memory) is an award-winning short film and feature-project created by Benjamin Sliker and Matthew Bumby.

Ben and Matt started to collaborate and mind-meld on various short and featured-length projects in the winter of 2009. Ben was a previous veteran and winner of film festivals on DVXuser.com, an online film community, and when Betrayalfest was announced, Ben and Matt went to work on creating a short for the competition.

After two months of script deliberation, Ben and Matt were ready to shoot. Enlisting the acting talent of Tim Holt, Michael Thomas and Tom Olson as the voice of Oz, principal photography began in the beginning of February, with the first competition cut completed in early March 2010.

The film was received well in competition and received numerous positive reviews, including a write-up on filmeveryday.com, praising the depth of its content and style of its execution. ROM went on to win Betrayalfest, beating out 50 other films.

This website was designed to chronicle the festival run of ROM, the short film, and the development, fundraising, and production of ROM, the feature film.
